OSP’s Youth Against Corruption Programme Reaches St. Thomas Aquinas SHS
- 414 students of St. Thomas Aquinas sensitized on corruption identification and reporting
- Interactive session included case studies and whistleblowing guidance
- OSP's Youth Against Corruption program empowers next generation
The Youth Against Corruption (YAC) program of the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) conducted a engaging sensitization session for 414 final-year students of St. Thomas Aquinas Senior High School. The interactive event aimed to equip students with the knowledge to identify and combat corrupt practices.
Through case studies and open discussions, students actively participated in spotting and debating corrupt practices. They also learned about the OSP’s mandate, including investigating, prosecuting, and recovering proceeds of corruption, as well as preventing corruption. The importance of whistleblowing and reporting corruption to the OSP was also emphasized.
During the Q&A session, students showed keen interest in the recruitment process of accountability institutions and measures to ensure the integrity of officers. One student asked about the recovery of corruption proceeds invested in community projects.
This session marks another step in the YAC program’s efforts to empower a generation to fight against corruption. By educating the youth, the OSP hopes to instill a culture of integrity and accountability in Ghana’s future leaders.
