Nigerian gospel artist Pita has pointed out the differences in support for gospel music between Ghana and Nigeria.

In an interview with Doreen Avio on Daybreak Hitz, Pita praised Ghana for its strong support of gospel music.

“What I love about Ghana is how much the country supports the gospel. In Nigeria, it’s harder to get corporate sponsorship for gospel music because they often say it’s a secular nation and don’t focus on this. But here in Ghana, I see brands backing gospel events,” he shared.

He also stressed the importance of gospel artists and Christians in the creative industry establishing stronger frameworks for their work.

“We need to build better structures for what we do in the gospel space,” he added.

Pita compared the airplay of Christian music in both countries, noting that in Ghana, Christian music is played frequently, whereas in Nigeria, it’s mostly limited to Sundays. He mentioned that some Nigerian stations only play gospel music during early hours and then quickly switch back to secular tunes.

Pita also spoke about his views on Ghanaian culture.

“Ghanaians are very polite, well-mannered, and cultured. But Ghana is getting expensive now,” he said.

Additionally, Pita hosted The Gratitude Concert on March 16, 2025, at Keepers House Chapel in Accra, Ghana.
