A Mobile Money vendor, Japhet Yeboah, met a tragic end on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, when he was shot dead in a daylight robbery at the Nkrankwanta lorry station in the Dormaa West District of the Bono Region.

The incident occurred around 4 p.m. when gunmen arrived at the scene in a white RAV4 private car. Under the guise of making a transaction, they approached Japhet, but their true intentions soon became apparent. The gunmen attacked him, demanding that he hand over his money, which led to a scuffle.

During the struggle, Japhet managed to unmask one of the gunmen, but unfortunately, he was shot twice, resulting in his instantaneous death. The sound of gunfire sent drivers, passengers, vendors, and scores of people at the station fleeing for their lives as the robbers fired warning shots.

The assailants escaped with an undisclosed amount of money, leaving Japhet’s lifeless body in a pool of blood. The police have taken custody of the body, which has been deposited at the Nkrankwanta Hospital, and have initiated an investigation into the incident.
