Medeama SC has appointed Augustine Evans Adotey as the interim head coach following the departure of Nebojsa Kapor.
Kapor’s contract was not renewed after his tenure with the Yellow and Mauve came to an end. His exit followed Medeama’s 3-2 defeat to Vision FC on Matchday 13, which left the team in fifth place on the league table with 21 points—just three points behind the league leaders.
Adotey, who led Medeama to their 2022/23 Ghana Premier League title, will take over as head coach on an interim basis until a permanent replacement is found. With his deep knowledge of the club and proven success, Adotey is expected to provide stability and help guide the team in their push for another title.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Medeama confirmed that the decision to part ways with Kapor was made after “both parties failed to reach an agreement on contract renewal,” with the club citing inconsistent performances this season as a factor in the decision.
Adotey’s first challenge as interim head coach will be to lead Medeama in their Matchday 14 home fixture against Karela United at the TNA Park.
