- Ghana grouped with South Africa, Tanzania, and Mali
- Team in training camp ahead of July tournament
Black Queens head coach, Kim Lars Bjorkegren, has shared his determination to guide Ghana to a landmark victory at the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), set to take place in Morocco from July 5 to 26.
The national women’s team is currently in training camp, ramping up preparations for their first appearance at the tournament since 2018.
Ghana has been placed in a challenging group that includes defending champions South Africa, as well as Tanzania and Mali.
While acknowledging the difficulty of the task ahead, Bjorkegren remains optimistic about the team’s chances.
“Winning gold is simple in theory—it’s step by step. We’re not seen as favourites outside Ghana, but I believe in our potential,” he told 3Sports.
“Five nations may be ahead of us on paper, but if we get out of the group, it’s just three matches—we can achieve it.”
The 2025 WAFCON is expected to deliver thrilling competition, with top African teams vying for the coveted title in Morocco.
