Finance Minister to Present 2024 Mid-Year Budget Review in Parliament Today

Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, Finance Minister, is scheduled to deliver the 2024 Mid-Year Budget Review to Parliament today, Tuesday, July 23, 2024.
The presentation will provide an update on the progress of the government’s 2024 Budget implementation, offering revised financial plans and an updated economic outlook for the country.
According to a statement released by the Ministry on Monday, July 22, the review aims to assess the economic and fiscal performance for the first half of the year, detailing growth measures, revenue and expenditure outcomes, financing, and debt sustainability.
Dr. Amin Adam, who assumed office in February 2024, will also update Parliament on the status of the ongoing US$3 billion International Monetary Fund (IMF) loan-supported Post-COVID-19 Programme for Economic Growth (PC-PEG). This marks his inaugural budget presentation in accordance with Section 28 of the Public Financial Management Act, 2016 (Act 921).
