  • 800km and 2.2km paved roads to be built in Asufufuo and Kwapong respectively
  • Project expected to be completed by the end of the year, improving road safety and alleviating flooding issues

The Minister of the Ahafo Region and the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Asunafo South, Frank Aduse Poku, have officially launched the construction of deplorable town roads in Kwapong and Asufufuo.

During a ceremony attended by local chiefs and residents, the Minister and DCE interacted with the community before breaking ground on the project.

According to the DCE, Frank Aduse Poku, the poor state of the roads has posed numerous challenges for residents in both dry and rainy seasons. “The roads have been in a deplorable state, and the community has suffered greatly, especially during the rainy season when flooding occurs due to poor drainage,” he explained.

However, with the construction of the 800 kilometers paved road in Asufufuo and the 2.2 paved road in Kwapong, residents will now be able to ply the route safely.

The contractor is expected to complete the work by the end of this year, according to the DCE.

“This project will greatly improve the lives of our people, and we are grateful for the support,” Mr. Poku said.
