The Central North Regional Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the murder of 34-year-old Tahiru Zenabu at Kokoase, a suburb of Twifo Praso in the Central Region.
The arrests were made following a critical lead—use of the victim’s mobile phone.
Zenabu was discovered dead in her room on April 3, 2025, with a cloth tied around her neck and blood on her hands, suggesting a violent struggle.
After nearly a month of investigations, police made a breakthrough on May 5 when Richard Armah, a phone repairer and spinner from Twifo Aboabo, used the deceased’s phone to contact one of her friends. The friend recognized the number and quickly alerted the authorities.
Police traced and arrested Armah, who later named Isaac Arhin as his accomplice. Arhin was also taken into custody shortly thereafter.
The victim’s phone has been recovered and is being held as evidence.
Both suspects were arraigned on May 7, 2025, and have been remanded in custody to reappear in court on May 21, 2025, as investigations continue.
Police praised the vigilance of the victim’s friend and the community’s cooperation, which they say were instrumental in cracking the case.
