Students and teachers at Asuafu R/C Primary School in the Tain District of the Bono Region were met with a shocking sight upon returning from a long weekend. An unknown individual had defecated on the chalkboard in the Basic 5 classroom, forcing the suspension of lessons for the affected students.
The headmaster and some Basic 5 students took immediate action to clean and sanitize the classroom. However, this is not an isolated incident, as reports indicate that unknown persons have previously defecated under pupils’ desks.
The school’s poor structure and lack of proper facilities and security measures have made it difficult for authorities to control access and prevent such incidents. The school authorities are appealing for support from the District Education office and other stakeholders to address these challenges and prevent future occurrences.
