A fatal accident on the Obuasi-Kwapia road in the Ashanti region has resulted in one confirmed death and multiple injuries. The incident occurred around 1:45 PM on Sunday, October 20, 2024.
Reports indicate that a Dodge vehicle with registration number WR 810-S veered off its lane and collided head-on with an oncoming Ford transit bus, registered AS 4116-4, which was being driven by 28-year-old Emmanuel Manu, carrying 11 passengers.
All occupants in both vehicles sustained various injuries and were promptly taken to the Obuasi Government Hospital for medical treatment. The body of the deceased has been deposited at the hospital morgue as investigations into the accident are underway.
This incident comes just a week after another tragic accident on the same road, which resulted in the deaths of 13 individuals and left many others injured.
