A 25-year-old man, Stanley Ahadzi, was tragically shot and killed on August 18th in Satellite-Kuntunse, Ghana.

The incident allegedly stemmed from a disagreement over a car fare between Ahadzi and the driver, Constable Smith Gyekyi, who is an off-duty police officer.

According to reports, Ahadzi was not a passenger but was called by the actual passenger, Esther Owusua, to help with directions. Upon arrival, an argument erupted between Gyekyi and Ahadzi regarding the fare.

The situation escalated tragically when Gyekyi allegedly drew his weapon and shot Ahadzi without warning.

Ahadzi’s body is currently at the Police Hospital, while Gyekyi has been detained and his service pistol confiscated for investigation.
