Addressing a gathering of enthusiastic New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters at Effiakuma Zongo, also known as ‘VIP’, in Takoradi, on Saturday, August 17, she declared, “Ghana’s future will be better if Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia becomes president.” Her words were met with thunderous applause and cheers from the crowd.

The Second Lady’s appeal came ahead of the party’s Manifesto Launch, scheduled for Sunday, August 18. She emphasized that Dr. Bawumia’s leadership abilities, vision, and experience make him the ideal candidate to lead Ghana towards a brighter future.

Hajia Samira Bawumia also highlighted the numerous social interventions initiated by the Akufo-Addo government, expressing her optimism that these projects would continue to thrive under Dr. Bawumia’s leadership. Born and raised in a Zongo, the Second Lady shared her personal story of how education transformed her life. She emphasized the impact of the government’s free educational policy, which has opened doors for countless young people. “I was born and nurtured in the Zongo, and if it hadn’t been for education, I wouldn’t be where I am today,” she said.
