A man in his early 30s was reportedly poisoned to death by acquaintances during a naming ceremony in Ajumako Abrofoa, Ajumako Enyan Essiam District, Central Region.

According to a report from Kasapa News’ Yaw Boagyan, the victim, identified as Kojo Aquaye, had been invited to the event where he partook in food and drinks. Shortly after consuming them in a room, he collapsed, with foamy liquid coming from his mouth, prompting witnesses to suspect foul play.

Aquaye was swiftly taken to Ajumako District Government Hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival. Hospital staff indicated severe damage to his intestines, raising concerns of poisoning.

Local residents suggested Aquaye had a history of theft when intoxicated, leading to speculation that he may have been deliberately poisoned to halt these behaviors.

The incident has been reported to Ajumako District Police Command for further investigation. Aquaye’s body has been transferred to Etuafoa Mortuary for autopsy and preservation.
