EC Issues Strong Warning Against Election Misconduct
- The EC will not shield any officer
- Officials found guilty of tampering with the electoral process will face significant legal repercussions
- The EC aims to ensure a fair and transparent election process
The Electoral Commission (EC) has delivered a strong warning ahead of the upcoming December elections, making it clear that no officer will be protected if found guilty of electoral fraud.
This statement reflects the EC’s dedication to upholding a transparent, fair, and credible election process.
At a recent press briefing, Dr. Bossman Asare, Deputy Chairperson of the EC, emphasized the commission’s unwavering stance against any form of misconduct by its personnel.
Dr. Asare assured the public that any officer implicated in manipulating the electoral process would face significant repercussions, including possible legal action.
“The commission is committed to transparency and accountability,” Dr. Asare said. “We will not offer protection to any officer, whether permanent or temporary, found involved in electoral malpractices. Such individuals will face the full extent of the law.”
This warning comes as part of the EC’s broader efforts to deter and address any potential electoral fraud ahead of the December elections.
The commission’s proactive stance aims to instill confidence among voters and stakeholders in the integrity of the electoral process.
By ensuring that all officers are held to the highest standards of conduct, the EC seeks to prevent any undermining of the democratic process and reinforce the public’s trust in the election outcomes.
