Oti EC Registers 23,634 New Voters; 426 Cases Challenged

The Oti Region has recorded a total of 23,634 new voters in the recent Limited Voter Registration exercise, which took place over 23 days.
The breakdown shows 11,831 male and 11,803 female registrants, with 426 cases challenged.
According to Mr. Nuhu Mahama, Oti Regional Director of the Electoral Commission (EC), 6,458 applicants used their Ghana Cards, five used Passports, and 17,171 used Guarantors to support their registration.
Additionally, 51 Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) were registered and issued new voter ID cards.
Both the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and National Democratic Congress (NDC) have commended the EC for its effective management of the registration process, despite initial challenges.
The Regional Organiser of the NPP, Mr. Felix Ade, praised the Commission’s efforts, while the Regional Secretary of the NDC, Mr. Gabriel Lemboel, emphasized the importance of the extension period in ensuring inclusiveness.
