Benita Sena Okity-Duah, the former Member of Parliament for Ledzokuku, has been appointed as the Coordinator for the Free Senior High School (SHS) Secretariat, reinforcing her dedication to education in Ghana.
Born on June 19, 1976, in Anloga, Volta Region, Okity-Duah gained national attention after winning the Miss Ghana title in 1997.
She attended Achimota School before studying fashion at the London School of Fashion.
After returning to Ghana in 2003, she built a successful career in the fashion industry before transitioning into politics. In 2012, she secured the NDC nomination and became the first former Miss Ghana to be elected to Parliament.
Okity-Duah also served as Deputy Minister of Gender, Children, and Social Protection from April 2013 to June 2014.
