Delta Work, a three-time Cheltenham Festival winner and runner-up in the 2024 Grand National, has passed away at the age of 12. The horse, owned by Gigginstown House Stud and trained by Gordon Elliott, died following a bout of colic.

Delta Work’s illustrious career began with success at the 2018 Cheltenham Festival, where he triumphed in the Pertemps Final. He went on to secure back-to-back victories in the Glenfarclas Chase in 2022 and 2023.

Throughout his career, Delta Work achieved five victories at Grade One level and made a significant mark in the Grand National, finishing third in 2022 and second in 2024.

“He was an unbelievable horse and we were very, very lucky and proud to have him and be associated with him,” said Eddie O’Leary of Gigginstown. “He was brilliant for Gordon and Gordon was brilliant for him. He was so versatile, so honest and so sound.”
