The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced its intention to broadcast its meeting with the Electoral Commission (EC) live, despite the EC’s rejection of the request.
The meeting, scheduled for Friday, September 6, aims to address alleged discrepancies in the 2024 provisional voters register.
In a letter dated August 27, the NDC requested a meeting with the EC to discuss the issues with the voter register.
On Thursday, September 5, the NDC made a follow-up request for the meeting to be aired live, but the EC declined.
Dr. Omane Boamah, the NDC’s Director of Elections, expressed his disagreement with the EC’s decision in a Facebook post.
He stated that NDC representatives attending the meeting would ensure it is streamed live for public transparency.
Dr. Boamah also cautioned the EC against any attempts to manipulate the upcoming election in favor of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He questioned the “LOUD SILENCE” of the ruling NPP despite the anomalies raised about the provisional voters register.
Dr. Boamah emphasized that the NDC would not tolerate any attempts to rig the election and would serve as broadcast outlets during and after the meeting.
The NDC is determined to ensure transparency and fairness in the electoral process, and will not relent in its efforts to achieve this goal.
