Mahama Mocks NPP’s Road Claims
- Mahama challenged the NPP's claim of 12,000 kilometers of road construction
- He highlighted the poor state of roads in various areas
- Mahama promised that an NDC government would focus on real, sustainable infrastructure projects
Former President John Dramani Mahama has criticized the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) for allegedly exaggerating their achievements in road construction.
According to Mahama, the NPP’s claim of having built 12,000 kilometers of roads is misleading and untrue.
Addressing a crowd in Anyaa Sowutuom, Greater Accra Region, Mahama mocked the NPP’s assertion, suggesting that if their claims were accurate, the roads would extend all the way from Accra to Japan.
He pointed out that despite these lofty claims, many roads across the country remain in poor condition.
Mahama, who is running for president again after previous losses in 2016 and 2020, highlighted the dilapidated state of roads in areas like Agape, Antieku, and Ablekuma New Town. He emphasized that the NDC has a proven track record of long-term development, unlike the NPP, which he accused of misleading voters with false promises.
The NDC candidate also criticized the NPP’s approach to politics, accusing them of deceitful tactics to gain power, in stark contrast to the NDC’s commitment to integrity and sustainable development. He vowed that an NDC government would focus on meaningful infrastructure investments to benefit Ghanaians for generations to come.
