Strengthening Ties: Ghana and India Explore New Avenues for Collaboration

On Tuesday, August 13, H.E. Manish Gupta, the Indian High Commissioner to Ghana, visited the Minister for Information, Fatimatu Abubakar, in Accra.
This meeting was part of ongoing efforts to enhance the bilateral relationship between Ghana and India.
During their discussions, they explored various avenues for collaboration between the two nations. Minister Abubakar praised India for its successful implementation of the Right to Information Law and its adherence to protocols that promote transparency and accountability.
She proposed a partnership with the Indian High Commission to build the capacity of the staff at the Access to Information Division within the Information Services Department.
Additionally, she requested support for rehabilitating the Department’s Library to better archive Ghana’s film materials.
The High Commissioner expressed India’s readiness to offer expertise and support the Ministry’s requests. They also discussed potential collaboration between Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) and Indian National Television to foster cultural exchange and share experiences.
