The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has pledged to investigate and prosecute individuals involved in the alleged “Agyapadie” document scandal. The document purportedly reveals a grand scheme by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to annex state assets, which President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has dismissed as fabricated.

Sammy Gyamfi, the NDC’s National Communications Officer, emphasized that the next NDC government will investigate illegal and sole-sourced contracts. Gyamfi vowed that stolen funds will be retrieved, and individuals found culpable will face legal action.

He assured that the next NDC government will extend accountability to its own members, ensuring that no one is above the law. Gyamfi highlighted John Mahama’s track record of fighting corruption, citing investigations and prosecutions of scandals during his administration.

He mentioned the GYEEDA scandal, where an appointee of Mahama’s government was convicted, and about GHS50 million was retrieved for the state. Gyamfi also referenced the bus branding scandal and National Service scandal, where investigations and prosecutions were conducted under Mahama’s leadership.

He emphasized that Mahama demonstrated a commitment to fighting corruption, even when it involved his own appointees. Gyamfi concluded that the NDC’s flagbearer, John Mahama, has the proven track record and political will to fight corruption, making him the best candidate to lead the country.
