Mercy Araba Ahema Quarshie, the sister of the late President John Evans Atta Mills, has expressed her strong disapproval of Koku Anyidoho’s actions regarding her brother’s grave. At the 12th-anniversary memorial service of President Atta Mills, Ms. Quarshie criticized Mr. Anyidoho for interfering with the grave without the family’s permission.
She accused Mr. Anyidoho of transporting individuals to pose as the late President’s family members during his wreath-laying service. Ms. Quarshie emphasized that these individuals were not recognized by the family and were pretending to be relatives of the late President.
She described the scene as “disgusting” and highlighted an incident where an 80-year-old woman claimed to have given birth to President Atta Mills. Ms. Quarshie stressed that Mr. Anyidoho’s actions were unacceptable and that he would face consequences for tampering with the grave.
She emphasized that it is a taboo in their family to interfere with the grave without permission. The family had previously accused Mr. Anyidoho of disrespecting the late President’s memory and causing chaos at the memorial service.
Ms. Quarshie vowed to take action against Mr. Anyidoho, stating that he had “stepped on the wrong foot” and would not be let off the hook. The incident has sparked controversy and highlighted the ongoing tensions between Mr. Anyidoho and the Atta Mills family.
