Renowned actress Patience Ozokwor, fondly known as Mama G, has expressed her concerns over the alarming rate of untimely deaths in the Nigerian film industry. In an interview with Vanguard, Ozokwor attributed these tragedies to negligence and carelessness among actors.

Speaking at the emotional funeral of comic actor John Okafor, aka Mr. Ibu, in Enugu State, Mama G emphasized the importance of prioritizing health. “When you’re doing something you enjoy, you neglect your health. But it’s crucial to take care of yourself, as it affects your body,” she said.

Ozokwor lamented that some actors prefer to visit chemists instead of hospitals for proper check-ups, calling it “carelessness.” She advised her colleagues to learn from her experience and prioritize regular health check-ups.

The actress, now an evangelist, also shared her transformative encounter with God in 2016, which led her to dedicate her life to spreading His word. “God called me to work for Him, and after a 30-day spiritual journey, I became a changed person,” she revealed.
