Authorities in Akrokerri, near Obuasi, Ashanti Region, have verified reports of a theft at a local health centre, where suspected thieves stole mobile phones from patients who were admitted.
According to Madam Comfort Owusu, Medical Assistant at Akrokerri Health Centre, the thieves entered the facility and stole three mobile phones valued at GH₵7,200.00 from patients before fleeing the scene.
Following the incident, Madam Owusu promptly reported the theft to Akrokerri Police, who have acknowledged the complaint and assured the public that they are actively investigating the matter.
Police officials emphasized their commitment to apprehending the suspects involved in this brazen act of theft.
