Leaked Tape: Godfred Dame Won’t Step Down – NPP
The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has rebuffed demands for the resignation of Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Godfred Yeboah Dame, following the emergence of a leaked tape.
During a press briefing in Accra, the NPP affirmed its unwavering support for Dame, asserting his steadfastness and competence in executing his duties.
The controversy erupted after audio recordings surfaced, implicating Dame in discussions with Richard Jakpa, a key figure in the ongoing ambulance case.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) promptly called for Dame’s resignation, citing alleged misconduct in handling the case.
However, Frank Davies, Chairman of the NPP’s Legal Committee, dismissed these calls as baseless, affirming Dame’s dedication to his responsibilities.
Davies criticized the NDC’s stance as hypocritical and affirmed Dame’s commitment to remaining focused and resolute in his work.
