The founder of Anointed Palace Chapel (APC), Rev. Obofour, has spoken out about the heartbreaking loss of his beloved mother, Afia Pokuaa, also known as Mama Ade Special.
In an emotional address, Rev. Obofour described his mother’s passing as beautiful and divinely orchestrated, noting that she knew her time was near.
The pastor shared intimate details of his mother’s final days, revealing that she had seemed fine just two weeks prior to her passing. He detailed how she had led his ministry, donated to congregants, and even gone for a birthday photoshoot, where she hinted at her impending departure.
“She went for her birthday photoshoot and told us to watch her very well since very soon, it will be a privilege we won’t get anymore. She asked for some of her photos to be enlarged since they will be used for her farewell printings.”
Following the photoshoot, she attended church on Sunday, after which she informed him that she would be going for a medical checkup the next day.
Rev. Obofour narrated how, upon arrival at the hospital, she was unexpectedly admitted and advised to rest. However, she insisted she was hale and hearty but still complied.
“She was to be discharged the next day. I slept there with her, and we cracked jokes and laughed. Before I left, she told me plainly that I wouldn’t meet her the same way I left,” Rev. Obofour recalled.
Mama Ade Special died shortly after, surrounded by her children. She had looked her best, clad in a white dress with a full made-up face.
In his view, his mother is very happy wherever she is, as she lived a fulfilled life.
