Nana Akosua Frimponmaa Sarpong Kumankumah, the Convention People’s Party (CPP) presidential candidate, has strongly criticized the Akufo-Addo administration’s handling of Ghana’s economy.
In a recent address, Nana Akosua highlighted the alarming rise in prices of basic goods and services, citing the example of a single finger of local bananas now costing GHC2.
This stark illustration, she argued, underscores the struggles ordinary Ghanaians face in making ends meet.
Nana Akosua differentiated the CPP’s economic vision from the current government, emphasizing the urgent need for economic reform.
The CPP, she stressed, offers a viable alternative for Ghanaians seeking change in the 2024 elections.
“All you have to do is look around you, look at your life and where you are. Everything, access to, I can’t even say it, it’s surprising,” Nana Akosua said.
When asked about her economic plan, she outlined her focus on the micro economy, addressing the daily struggles of citizens.
While Ghana’s performance indicators may impress internationally, Nana Akosua noted, they don’t reflect the reality of ordinary Ghanaians.
To address this disparity, she pledged to implement policies benefiting ordinary citizens, such as affordable housing and access to potable water.
Nana Akosua vowed to stabilize the Ghanaian cedi if elected and urged citizens to reject the incumbent NPP government, voting overwhelmingly for her in the December polls.
