  • State resources should create jobs, not buy votes.
  • NDC promises better governance and development.

Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the Running Mate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has issued a stern warning to electorates to reject any vote-buying inducements by the ruling party. Addressing a community durbar at Budumbram in the Gomoa East constituency, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang emphasized that such inducements only bring hardships and deny citizens meaningful development and a better quality of life.

She noted that state resources should be used to create jobs for the youth, rather than being hoarded for vote-buying on election day, as the ruling NPP intends to do. Prof. Opoku-Agyemang stressed that the money offered by the NPP cannot sustain citizens for even a day, and cannot be used to build essential infrastructure such as polyclinics, roads, and schools.

She explained that good governance involves putting proper policies in place to provide a better life for all Ghanaians, as the NDC has promised to do with its 24-hour Economy, Women’s Development Bank, and Big Push policy for massive infrastructure development. Prof. Opoku-Agyemang urged electorates to vote massively for the NDC Flagbearer, Mr. John Dramani Mahama, in the upcoming December 7 general elections.

She also endorsed the Gomoa East parliamentary candidate, Hon. Desmond De-Graft Paitoo, to bring development to the area. The NDC Running Mate emphasized that the party’s policies are designed to benefit all Ghanaians, regardless of their background or location.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang’s message resonated with the community, who expressed their frustration with the lack of development in the area despite the ruling party’s promises. By rejecting vote-buying inducements and voting for the NDC, citizens can ensure that their resources are used for meaningful development and a better quality of life.
