“Alan Kyerematen Endorsed for 2024 Presidency, Ohene Ntow Says”
- NPP and NDC are not viable options for Ghanaians, says Nana Ohene Ntow.
- Ntow criticizes both parties for their handling of the economy.
- A presidential debate would expose Dr. Bawumia's weaknesses, predicts Kwame Jantuah.
- Dr. Bawumia challenges Mahama to a debate, but Amaliba says it's unnecessary.
Nana Ohene Ntow, advisor to presidential aspirant Alan Kyerematen, has dismissed the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and National Democratic Congress (NDC) as viable options for Ghanaians in the 2024 general elections. Instead, he believes Alan Kyerematen’s Great Transformation Programme (GTP) offers a promising alternative for Ghana’s economic growth.
Ntow criticized the NPP and NDC for their handling of the economy, citing Ghana’s return to the IMF under both parties’ leadership. He argued that Alan’s GTP presents a clear vision for Ghana’s economic development, unlike the NPP and NDC’s perceived corruption and mismanagement.
Kwame Jantuah, a leading member of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP), agreed that a presidential debate between Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and John Dramani Mahama would expose Dr. Bawumia’s weaknesses. Jantuah predicted that Dr. Bawumia would struggle to answer basic questions about food inflation, tomatoes, onions, and other essential commodities.
Abraham Amaliba, Director of Conflict Resolution for the NDC, dismissed the idea of a debate, stating that the economic issues are already apparent to Ghanaians. Amaliba argued that the exchange rate under Mahama’s administration was better than the current rate, making a debate unnecessary.
Dr. Bawumia had earlier challenged Mahama to a live presidential debate to discuss their visions and policies. The debate has sparked interest, with many calling for a debate between the leading candidates to clarify their policies and vision for Ghana.
