- Otumfuo dismisses of arrogance claims
- Otumfuo Osei Tutu II publicly advised NAPO to exhibit humility and obedience towards Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia
Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has dismissed claims of arrogance surrounding his son, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) running mate.
He emphasized that NAPO, as he is known in political circles, has been raised well, casting doubt on allegations of sudden behavioral changes in politics.
However, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II publicly advised NAPO to demonstrate humility as he embarks on his journey alongside Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia towards the December 7th general election.
“I have already given my son advice in private, but let me reiterate it here. I urge him not to let Dr. Bawumia regret choosing him. He should serve him dutifully and heed his instructions. There are rumors of disrespect, but that is not how I raised him,” stated the King during his speech at Manhyia where NAPO was unveiled as Bawumia’s running mate.
“If he misbehaves, report him to me and I will address it,” added Otumfuo, underscoring his commitment to maintaining discipline.
