Richard Ahiagbah, Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has criticized John Dramani Mahama, flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), for being disconnected from the realities facing Ghanaians. Ahiagbah suggests that Mahama either has a short memory or has forgotten that many of his proposed initiatives are already being implemented by the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration.
In a post on his X platform, Ahiagbah reacted to the NDC’s manifesto launch on August 24, stating that Mahama’s proposals seem to be a repetition of the NPP Manifesto with different wording. Ahiagbah emphasized that Ghanaians witnessed Mahama’s presidency from 2013 to 2017 and rejected him decisively.
He questioned Mahama’s ability to fund his promised free initiatives, especially when he claims the economy is bankrupt. Ahiagbah also asked if Mahama is aware of existing projects, such as Starlink’s upcoming operational launch in Ghana, automobile assembly, and investments in free Technical and Vocational Education and Training.
He further questioned Mahama’s sudden realization that traditional grammar schools are outdated. Ahiagbah criticized Mahama’s “Reset” campaign as an effort to mislead Ghanaians into thinking the NDC is offering something new.
He emphasized that Ghana will not return to Mahama’s leadership and will instead move forward to a future of possibilities. Ahiagbah concluded that the NDC’s “Reset” campaign raises more questions than answers and is an attempt to deceive Ghanaians.
