Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) running mate, has made a bold assertion that the Akufo-Addo administration has achieved more than any previous government in Ghana’s history. He made this statement while speaking at the official launch of the Ashanti Regional NPP Campaign Working Committees and Women’s Conference in Kumasi.

Dr. Prempeh took the opportunity to highlight the significant accomplishments of the Akufo-Addo government across various sectors, urging party members to support the NPP under Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the 2024 general elections.

He began by emphasizing the unprecedented scale of healthcare infrastructure development, stating, “No administration has embarked on the construction of 111 hospitals as this government has.” This, he noted, is a testament to the government’s commitment to improving healthcare delivery in the country.

In the education sector, Dr. Prempeh praised the administration for its substantial contributions, saying, “No government has built schools or established universities to the extent of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s administration.” This, he argued, demonstrates the government’s dedication to providing quality education for Ghanaians.

Dr. Prempeh also pointed out the government’s efforts in job creation, remarking, “No previous government has employed over 200,000 nurses and doctors or provided as many teaching positions as this administration has.” This, he said, is a clear indication of the government’s commitment to reducing unemployment and improving the livelihoods of citizens.

Furthermore, Dr. Prempeh commended the government’s response to emergencies, saying, “No other government has provided free food, electricity, and water during times of intense hardship and pandemics like Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s administration.” This, he noted, demonstrates the government’s compassion and commitment to the welfare of its citizens.

In conclusion, Dr. Prempeh called on party faithful to rally behind the NPP and its presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, to secure a decisive victory in the upcoming elections. He emphasized the need for party members to work together to ensure the NPP’s continued leadership in the country.

Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh highlighted that under Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s administration, the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) program, which supports the poor, has been increased three times, benefiting approximately 300,000 people. He emphasized, “I mention this because, with Dr. Bawumia as President, I am confident he will surpass what Nana Addo has achieved. Therefore, I want to acknowledge Nana Addo’s contributions before Dr. Bawumia takes office.
