Ghana and Morocco Agree on Visa Waiver and Strengthened Cooperation

Ghana and Morocco have finalized a key agreement to introduce a visa exemption for travelers from both countries.

Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, expressed positive expectations regarding the deal and confirmed that it will be presented to Parliament for official approval.

“We have also agreed to enhance cooperation in areas such as agribusiness, tourism, and security,” he shared after talks with the Moroccan Ambassador to Ghana, Her Excellency Imane Ouaadil.

Referring to the discussions as “fruitful and reassuring,” Mr. Ablakwa highlighted that the Moroccan Ambassador had addressed concerns about the safety of Africans in Morocco.

He clarified that despite circulating videos on social media suggesting the massacre of around 700 Africans, the Moroccan government has provided assurances that Ghanaians and all Africans residing in Morocco are safe.
