Challenges in the Gospel Music Industry

- Ronica expressed concern about established gospel figures not supporting emerging talents
- She shared challenges of balancing family life with music
- She highlighted hypocrisy in gospel artists
Ghanaian musician based in Canada, Ronica Sings, has spoken out about how some gospel artists present themselves in ways that don’t truly reflect their real personalities.
In an interview with Doreen Avio on Daybreak Hitz, Ronica shared that many gospel musicians project an image of unity, but their actions often suggest the opposite, creating division.
She stated, “Some gospel musicians are hypocritical about who they really are because the sense of togetherness they show outwardly isn’t always the reality when you get closer. Not all of them are like that though. Some have been really supportive, helping me connect with different opportunities.”
Ronica also voiced her concerns about established gospel artists not supporting emerging talents.
She asked, “We’re all working for the kingdom, so why can’t those already in the industry help elevate others with good work? Why not come together and help expand the kingdom of God?”
Discussing the challenges of balancing family life with her music career, Ronica mentioned, “It’s tough, but I look up to people who have managed it, like Diana Hamilton. She came from the UK and pushed through, and if she can do it, I believe I can too.”
Ronica’s insights emphasize the need for collaboration, genuine support, and authenticity within the music industry.
