Barcelona’s teenage prodigy, Lamine Yamal, continues to captivate the football world with his exceptional performances, adding another stunning display in the Champions League on Tuesday.

The 17-year-old played a pivotal role in Barcelona’s 3–1 victory over Benfica in the second leg of their last-16 clash, securing a 4-1 aggregate win for the Spanish giants. Yamal was once again the star, with a brilliant assist and a remarkable goal that showcased his immense talent.

In the 11th minute, Yamal initiated the attack by collecting the ball near midfield and driving at the Benfica defense. His quick footwork bamboozled two defenders, and although he initially aimed to shoot, he instead delivered a perfect pass to Raphinha at the back post, giving Barcelona the lead.

After the match, Yamal revealed he had intended to take a shot but inadvertently set up his teammate. Despite this, the lead-up to the assist was nothing short of sensational.

Benfica’s Nicolás Otamendi equalized with a header, but Yamal quickly responded in the 27th minute with another piece of brilliance. He cut inside from the sideline, evaded his defender, and curled a sublime shot into the far corner to restore Barcelona’s advantage.

His teammates were left in awe of his display, but Yamal, still just 17, remained unfazed by the spotlight.

“It was a good goal, but sometimes these things work out, and sometimes they don’t,” Yamal said modestly after the match.
