Lecturers at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) School of Medical Sciences have announced an indefinite strike due to ongoing delays in promotions and career advancement opportunities.
In an interview with Joy News, the lecturers voiced their frustration over the continuous postponement of their promotions, despite fulfilling all academic and professional requirements. Some faculty members have even contemplated leaving the university due to the absence of clear career progression paths.
The lecturers are urging the university’s management and relevant authorities to take swift action in addressing the matter.
As of now, the UCC administration has not issued an official response regarding the strike.
