Rapper King Paluta, whose real name is Paluta Thomas Adjei Wireko, has strongly advocated for himself as the deserving Artist of the Year at the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).
In an interview with Neat FM, King Paluta emphasized his hard work and consistency over the past year, highlighting several key accomplishments. He released four popular tracks—Odo Bi Ye Bad, Aseda, Makoma, and For the Popping (Apicki)—which gained widespread popularity both locally and internationally.
The rapper also featured on more than 40 songs, performed at 115 shows, and released an album. Reflecting on his previous achievements, he noted that winning TGMA’s Best New Artist of the Year last year showed his growth. He believes his evolution from a new artist to a bigger presence in the industry makes him a strong contender for Artist of the Year this time.
King Paluta referred to 2024 as the “King Paluta Year,” pointing out that his music has reached audiences beyond Ghana. He expressed pride in his consistent production of hit songs, noting that fans from various countries have embraced his music. “It would be unfair not to recognize my achievements and award me Artist of the Year,” he said.
Although he has not headlined his own show, which is a key requirement for the award, King Paluta explained that he focused on international engagements due to high demand from his global audience.
In addition to Artist of the Year, He is also hoping to win in categories such as Best Collaboration and Most Popular Song of the Year, given his significant contributions to the music scene.
