A young man has been found dead near a known ‘wee’ base in the Berekum-Amangoase area of the Bono Region. The deceased, whose identity remains unknown, was discovered with multiple cuts and bloodstains on his body. He was found naked, with a polythene bag covering his private parts, and stones scattered around him.
In an interview with Adom News, some local residents speculated that the man may have been a thief who was lynched following a failed robbery attempt. The community has also expressed growing concerns over the rising crime rate in the area.
The Assemblyman for the Amangoase Electoral Area, who confirmed the residents’ concerns, described the situation as troubling. However, he emphasized that he could not verify whether the deceased had indeed been lynched.
The police have taken the body to the morgue, and investigations are currently ongoing.
