“Marry Two or Three Women to Live Long” – Prophet Kumchacha

Story Highlights
  • Prophet Kumchacha Endorses Polygamy as Biblical
  • Kumchacha Claims Multiple Wives Can Prolong Men's Lifespan
  • No Bible Verse Condemns Polygamy, Says Prophet Kumchacha

Prophet Kumchacha, the leader of Heavens Gate Ministries, has stirred controversy by advocating for polygamy, asserting that it is not a sinful practice. His remarks challenge commonly held beliefs, as he claims the Bible does not explicitly prohibit having multiple wives.

During a recent segment on UTV’s United Showbiz aired on September 14, 2024, Prophet Kumchacha clarified that while the Apostle Paul advised men to have only one wife, he characterized this recommendation as a suggestion rather than an absolute rule. This interpretation, he argues, allows men to make personal choices regarding marriage.

“Marriage has its issues, so I always tell men to marry at least two or three women if they want to live long,” he stated, emphasizing the potential benefits of multiple marriages in managing the complexities of relationships.

The prophet further expressed his personal aspirations, saying, “If God blesses me with wealth like Kwame Despite or Ofori Sarpong, I would do the same.” He challenged any pastor to provide a biblical verse “from Genesis to Revelation that says having more than one wife will send you to hell—it doesn’t exist.”

Prophet Kumchacha also addressed the guidance given by Paul in 1 Timothy regarding marriage, arguing that it is not a stringent requirement, allowing individuals to choose how they wish to approach the matter. He noted that Paul’s directive in 1 Corinthians 14:34, which states that women should not preach in church, is often ignored by contemporary churches, highlighting inconsistencies in scriptural adherence.
