Rich Homie Quan, the acclaimed rapper from Atlanta known for his hit singles and collaborations, has passed away at the age of 34. TMZ Hip Hop has confirmed the rapper’s death, which occurred Thursday at his home in Atlanta. The confirmation came from his family and a representative for the Fulton County morgue.

In a statement to TMZ Hip Hop, Rich Homie Quan’s family expressed their devastation over the sudden loss, describing themselves as “shattered and heartbroken.”

TMZ has obtained the 911 call made at the time of his death. In the call, his girlfriend informed the dispatcher that the rapper was unresponsive, not breathing, and lacked a heartbeat. She also reported that he had been found on a couch and had started foaming at the mouth when she attempted to move him. The cause of death has not yet been disclosed, and investigations are ongoing as they seek answers.

Born Dequantes Lamar in Atlanta, Rich Homie Quan rose to prominence in 2013 with his breakthrough hit, “Type of Way.” He continued to gain recognition with popular tracks such as “Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh)” and “Ride Out.” Quan was also known for his collaboration with Young Thug on the Cash Money Records project, “Rich Gang,” and worked frequently with fellow Atlanta artists including 2 Chainz and Jacquees.
