The Chief of Mission for the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Ghana, Ms. Fatou Diallo Ndiaye, has praised the Interior Minister, Henry Quartey, for his exceptional leadership in managing migration in Ghana.

Ms. Ndiaye made these remarks during a courtesy call to the Minister’s office in Accra, where she led a delegation to express her appreciation for his efforts.

Minister Quartey expressed his gratitude to IOM Ghana for their unwavering support and collaboration in addressing migration challenges in the country.

He emphasized Ghana’s commitment to working closely with IOM to strengthen migration-related policies and programmes.

The Minister acknowledged the crucial role IOM played in helping Ghana develop its National Migration Policy, which has guided the country’s migration management efforts and contributed significantly to its development.

During the meeting, Ms. Ndiaye briefed the Minister on various programmes and initiatives undertaken by IOM in collaboration with the Migration Unit and other agencies under the Ministry.

She highlighted the significant progress made in managing migration flows, protecting migrants’ rights, and promoting sustainable development.

Ms. Ndiaye expressed appreciation for the strong partnership and collaboration with the Ministry, which has facilitated effective migration management in Ghana.

The meeting reinforced the strong partnership between the Government of Ghana and IOM in addressing migration-related issues.
