Nene Kanneh Larweh I, known in the entertainment industry as Sparqlyn, has recently paid homage to the paramount chief of the Asene Traditional area, HRM Nii Nikoi Olai Amashie III, during this year’s Homowo Festival.

Sparqlyn, formerly known as Kele of the defunct hiplife group Dunsin, which released their debut album Ɔyɛadeɛyie in 2009, transitioned to a solo career in 2018 after over a decade with the group. In January 2023, he was enstooled as the developmental chief of Krobo Odumase in the Eastern Region.

In an interview with GhanaWeekend, Sparqlyn elaborated on the purpose of his visit to the Asene paramount chief. “Even though I am a Krobo from Krobo Odumase, we are working hard to unite all the Ga-Adangbe state so that we will all be under one umbrella as Ga-Adangbe,” he explained.

Sparqlyn shared that during his meeting with Nii Nikoi Olai Amashie III, the paramount chief requested that he produce a song to promote the Ga-Adangbe state. “During our discussion, the Chief asked me as a musician to prepare myself to produce a song that would be used to promote the Ga-Adangbe state so that it can be used to celebrate our Festivals,” Sparqlyn noted.
