Actress Zoë Kravitz is shedding light on her personal life as she promotes her directorial debut, “Blink Twice,” starring her fiancé, Channing Tatum. In a recent interview with Esquire, Kravitz revealed that the couple met through the project and got to know each other over “notes calls” while she refined the script.
Kravitz and Tatum began their relationship before filming commenced, managing to keep it private for months until they were spotted riding together on his BMX bike, which Kravitz now finds “funny.”
Contrary to her father Lenny Kravitz’s recent statement, Zoë clarified that their wedding will not take place next year. “It’s literally something we’ve said in passing,” she explained. “Like, maybe I said, ‘Next year would be cool.'”
Kravitz also reflected on her childhood, sharing that she moved in with her father at age 11 after living with her mother, actress Lisa Bonet, for the first decade of her life. She expressed regret for not appreciating her mother’s efforts, saying, “I think it was very hurtful that I moved away from her to be with my dad and my dad wasn’t even there… I just wish I had been able to appreciate what she was doing for me.”
Kravitz praised her mother for preserving her innocence and nurturing her creativity. In contrast, her life with her father in Miami was less structured, with fewer rules. “It wasn’t that my dad didn’t care,” Kravitz explained. “He just cared about different things.”
“Blink Twice” is set to release on August 23.
