- Ameyaw Debrah banned Shatta Wale from his blog for 10 years due to life threats
- Shatta Wale allegedly threatened Ameyaw Debrah over negative stories
- The ban has been lifted, with no further threats from Shatta Wale
Ghanaian celebrity and lifestyle blogger Ameyaw Debrah has disclosed that he imposed a ten-year ban on dancehall artist Shatta Wale due to threats made against his life.
During an appearance on Joy Learning’s “Career Trail” program, Debrah addressed questions about potential media attacks he faces as a blogger. He recounted a significant incident involving Shatta Wale, who had accused him of consistently publishing negative stories.
Debrah explained that Shatta Wale’s complaint was accompanied by a threat: the dancehall artist warned him to stop writing about him if he valued his life.
“I blacklisted Shatta Wale over a number of years because there was a time he called and expressed that he felt I didn’t like him on my website. He said that we talked about him negatively and if I valued my life, I shouldn’t write about him. So I blacklisted him for over 10 years,” Debrah said.
The blogger clarified that the ban has now been lifted, allowing his team to once again cover stories about Shatta Wale. Since the lifting of the ban, Debrah has not received any further threats from the artist.
Aside from this particular incident, Ameyaw Debrah stated that he rarely encounters media attacks.
