The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is gearing up for a significant event named the “John The Baptist Walk” in Takoradi, situated in the Western Region.
This initiative aims to set the stage for the party’s manifesto launch, scheduled for Sunday, August 18, 2024, in anticipation of the December 7 elections.
Henry Nana Boakye, the NPP National Organiser, announced the event during an interview on Thursday. The walk is designed to rally support and stimulate enthusiasm among the party’s supporters as they approach the manifesto launch.
The walk is slated to commence on Sunday morning, starting from Fijai Junction and concluding at the Effiakuma Astro Turf. This event is strategically planned to energize the party’s base and engage the public ahead of the manifesto presentation.
Nana Boakye, affectionately known as Nana B, explained that the walk is aptly named “John The Baptist” because it is intended to prepare the electorate for the party’s 2024 manifesto, also referred to as the “Yesu Manifesto.”
The manifesto launch will take place at 2 PM, with the manifesto committee, chaired by Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, having reportedly done an exceptional job.
High-profile party members are expected to attend, including former President John Kufuor, President Nana Akufo-Addo, Vice President and NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and his running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku-Prempeh. Their presence underscores the significance of the event and the party’s commitment to a strong showing in the upcoming elections.
The NPP has assured that comprehensive security measures will be in place. The Police will be deployed to maintain order and ensure the safety of all participants during the walk.
The event is anticipated to be a pivotal moment for the party, not only to showcase their manifesto but also to galvanize support across Takoradi and beyond. The strategic timing of the walk aims to maximize impact and mobilize voters effectively.
In preparation for the walk, party officials are working to ensure a smooth and well-organized event. They are focusing on logistical arrangements to facilitate the participation of a large crowd and ensure the day proceeds without any hitches.
Overall, the “John The Baptist Walk” is poised to be a high-energy, impactful occasion, setting the tone for the NPP’s campaign efforts as they move closer to the elections.
