The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has taken disciplinary action against two of its executives in the Suhum Constituency, suspending them for alleged anti-party activities. The suspended executives are Samuel Baah, the Constituency Communication Officer, and Alhaji Bala Abubakar, the Deputy Constituency Nassara Coordinator.

The suspension letters were handed to the executives by the Constituency Executive Committee (CEC), citing breaches of the party’s constitution. According to a statement signed by Constituency Secretary Stephen A. Odame on Tuesday, August 13, the executives were found guilty of engaging in divisive and anti-party activities.

The Constituency Executive Committee (CEC) listed several misconducts, including campaigning against the party’s parliamentary candidate. The executives were also accused of organizing processions with anti-party messages and presenting a petition to the incumbent MP to contest as an independent candidate.

These actions were deemed to be in breach of Articles 3(9)(1) and 3(5)(a)(2) and (4) of the NPP Constitution. As a result, the executives have forfeited their membership and have been suspended from their positions within the party.

The NPP has emphasized that discipline and unity are paramount ahead of the 2024 elections, warning that similar conduct will not be tolerated. The party’s swift action against the executives serves as a clear message that anti-party activities will be dealt with decisively to maintain unity and cohesion within the party’s ranks.
