NDC party supporters have expressed their enthusiasm for the manifesto promises made by the flagbearer, John Mahama, particularly those addressing youth unemployment and empowerment. One supporter highlighted the pressing need for job opportunities, citing the example of nurses leaving the country due to lack of employment.
Another supporter emphasized the struggles of living with high unemployment and inflation rates, making it difficult for individuals to afford basic goods. The NDC youth manifesto launch revealed a comprehensive plan to tackle these issues, including training 1 million young Ghanaians in coding and creating jobs through a 24-hour economy.
The plan also includes equipping youth with skills and job opportunities, providing free WiFi in schools and public places, and supporting young entrepreneurs and women-owned businesses. Additionally, the manifesto promises to abolish the double track system and teacher licensure exam, increase access to quality education and affordable healthcare.
Flagbearer John Mahama expressed his intention to appoint more youth in government if the party wins the election. Young party communicators, such as Julius Anthony, praised the initiative, stating that youth involvement in government would bring innovation and accountability.
