GNAAS KNUST Celebrates 55th Anniversary and Homecoming

The Ghana National Association of Adventist Students (GNAAS) at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) celebrated its 55th anniversary and homecoming on July 20, 2024, marking a significant milestone in its history.
Despite challenges such as the lack of a proper church building, outgoing President Kofi Oppong Kyekyeku praised the event as a testament to the dedication of both past and present students who have contributed to the church’s growth.
In an exclusive interview with Adwoa Serwaa Yonkodo, Kyekyeku highlighted the pressing issues facing the organization, particularly the absence of a dedicated church premises, which has significantly impacted regular attendance. He revealed that GNAAS has been actively seeking assistance from the government and SDA churches to construct a chapel, a crucial step towards resolving this longstanding issue.
Incoming President Jeftha Akwasi Boamah commended the outgoing executives for their relentless efforts to build a chapel, a project he pledged to continue. He emphasized the importance of completing the chapel to foster worship and community among church members.
Boamah also stressed the need to create a comprehensive database to connect alumni, facilitate communication, and provide access to job opportunities. By prioritizing these initiatives, he aims to build on the progress made by his predecessors and advance GNAAS.
Pastor Alexander Agyapong, Chaplain of GNAAS KNUST and All GNAAS of the Northern Ghana Union Conference of Seventh Day Adventist Church (SDA), expressed heartfelt gratitude to the students who have actively participated in church activities. He encouraged university students to embrace their faith, attend church regularly, and support the growth of the gospel. Pastor Agyapong also urged the youth to avoid violence during the upcoming general elections, promoting peace and tranquility before, during, and after the elections.
