Court Rejects Bail for Nana Yaa and Co-Accused in Wyllbee Murder Case
- Nana Yaa and other suspects have been denied bail by the Akropong District Court
- Wyllbee was tragically killed at Tanoso
- Nana Yaa, allegedly Wyllbee's girlfriend, denied knowing him when he was accused of burglary
The Akropong District Court has denied bail to Nana Yaa and several others involved in the murder of Nana Yaw, also known as Wyllbee.
A few weeks ago, Wyllbee, a musician from Sowutouwm, was fatally beaten in Tanoso, Ashanti Region, after being mistaken for a thief.
Reports indicate that Wyllbee had visited Nana Yaa, who was allegedly his girlfriend, at her home, unaware that she was already married and that the residence was her matrimonial home.
When Wyllbee was apprehended and falsely identified as a criminal, Nana Yaa reportedly denied knowing him, even though he claimed he had come to see her.
Following public outrage, Nana Yaa was arrested and remanded in custody. She appeared in court yesterday, where her bail application was denied, and she was ordered to remain in police custody.
During the court session, it was disclosed that an additional suspect, identified as Boampong, has been arrested in connection with the case.
Despite attempts by the defense lawyer to secure bail for the accused, the judge rejected the request.
The accused have been remanded in custody for another two weeks pending further legal proceedings.
