“Election 2024: NDC General Secretary Promises Innovative Campaign Tactics”
- NDC adopts new campaign strategy for December polls.
- No large rallies, focus on door-to-door engagement.
- More personal approach to connect with voters.
- Campaign launch in Tamale on July 27.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is set to launch its campaign for the December polls with a new strategy, according to National Chairman Johnson Aseidu Nketiah. Speaking ahead of the party’s official campaign launch in Tamale on Saturday, July 27, Aseidu Nketiah revealed that the NDC will adopt a different approach to campaigning.
Unlike previous elections, the party will not focus on holding large rallies, instead opting for a more personal and intimate approach. Aseidu Nketiah explained that the party will prioritize door-to-door and house-to-house campaigns, engaging with voters on a personal level.
This “retail campaign” approach, as he called it, will allow party functionaries to connect with people in their own communities. Aseidu Nketiah emphasized the importance of touching base with voters, saying that this approach will be more effective than large rallies.
He also noted that this approach is more cost-effective, as party functionaries can reach out to people in their villages rather than bringing them to a central location. The NDC’s campaign launch in Tamale will serve as a reminder to party members that this year’s campaign will be different.
Aseidu Nketiah’s comments suggest that the party is shifting its focus towards a more grassroots, personalized approach to campaigning. By doing so, the NDC hopes to connect with voters on a deeper level and gain an advantage in the upcoming election.
